Kofi Kinaata has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to ensure fairness and transparency in the selection of Ghana’s final Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a social media post shared on Monday, May 18, the award-winning highlife artiste appealed to the football governing body to make the selection process “free and fair” for all deserving and active players.

According to Kinaata, many Ghanaians are paying close attention to the decisions being made ahead of the tournament and expect merit to play a key role in determining who makes the final squad.
“Dear GFA 🇬🇭, We beg waa, we’re waiting for the final WC 26-man squad. If the selection process is ongoing backstage too, kindly make it free and fair for the active deserving players.. because we all dey watch some. Thanks! From a Patriotic Ghanaian,” he wrote.
The post quickly sparked reactions across social media, with many football fans agreeing with the musician’s concerns about transparency and merit in national team selection.
