Arsenal FC have officially ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League title after rivals Manchester City dropped crucial points in a dramatic draw away to AFC Bournemouth.

The result on Tuesday night confirmed Arsenal as champions before the final round of Premier League fixtures, with Mikel Arteta’s side moving four points clear at the top of the table.

The Gunners are now set to officially lift the Premier League trophy during their final game of the season against Crystal Palace FC on Sunday.

The title triumph marks Arsenal’s first league championship since the famous “Invincibles” season of 2003/04 and represents a historic achievement for Arteta, who has transformed the club into one of England’s strongest sides again.

Manchester City entered the clash needing victory to keep the title race alive, but they were outplayed by a determined Bournemouth side that continued their impressive unbeaten run.

The game was also overshadowed by growing reports suggesting legendary City manager Pep Guardiola could leave the club at the end of the season.

Before kick-off, Guardiola insisted speculation surrounding his future had “absolutely zero” impact on preparations. However, City struggled throughout the match against an energetic Bournemouth side backed by a passionate home crowd.

Teenage sensation Junior Kroupi opened the scoring for Bournemouth six minutes before halftime with a brilliant curling finish that sent the home fans into celebration.

City pushed for a response in the second half, but Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic produced an important save to deny Nico O’Reilly and preserve his side’s advantage.

Although Erling Haaland eventually scored a late equaliser in stoppage time, the result was still not enough to keep Manchester City’s title hopes alive.

The draw officially handed Arsenal the championship and ended one of the club’s longest waits for league success.

For Bournemouth, the night was equally historic. Manager Andoni Iraola confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season, but his side’s remarkable campaign has secured European football for next season.

Meanwhile, Manchester City now face growing uncertainty regarding Guardiola’s future after one of the most successful managerial eras in football history.

The Spaniard has guided City to six Premier League titles, a UEFA Champions League trophy, multiple domestic cups and a period of dominance rarely seen in English football.

Reports continue to link former City coach Enzo Maresca with a possible return as Guardiola’s successor should the Spaniard decide to step down.

As Arsenal fans prepare for celebrations on Sunday, many football supporters are already describing this season as the beginning of a new era in the Premier League after Manchester City’s dominance was finally brought to an end.
