Kojo Blak has revealed that prayer and spiritual discipline play a major role in his music-making process, disclosing that he prays before recording every song and sometimes fasts before releasing music.
Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM on Monday, May 18, the singer explained that his spiritual practices are deeply connected to his creativity and success in music.

According to Kojo Blak, he often leaves the studio environment to pray before beginning any recording session, adding that only a few close friends know about the personal routine.
“Let me say one thing here. Before I make any song in the studio, I go out. Few of my friends know this. I go out and I pray. Sometimes I even speak in tongues,” he said.
The musician explained that his faith has helped him overcome several difficult moments throughout his career and continues to be the source of his confidence and inspiration.
Kojo Blak pointed to the recording process behind his song “Down” as an example of how prayer helped him during a challenging period.
According to him, he recorded the song while dealing with serious vocal issues that affected even his normal speaking voice.
“I recorded ‘Down’ with my voice gone. My speaking voice was not clear. But I went out, I prayed and I came,” he revealed.
Despite the condition of his voice at the time, the artiste believes prayer helped him successfully record one of the strongest Afro R&B songs in his catalogue.
“Down is like one of the best Afro R&B songs I’ve done. So I believe everybody has what’s backing them. For me, it is God. I don’t have any other thing I do,” he added.
The singer further disclosed that his spiritual discipline goes beyond prayer alone, revealing that he sometimes undertakes periods of fasting before releasing music projects.
His comments have since sparked reactions among fans and music lovers on social media, with many praising his openness about the role faith plays in his creative journey.
Others also described his testimony as inspirational, especially for young creatives trying to balance spirituality with their careers.
Kojo Blak joins a growing number of Ghanaian artistes who have publicly spoken about relying on faith, prayer and spiritual guidance in their music journeys.

Over the years, several musicians within the Ghanaian entertainment industry have credited their success and resilience to strong spiritual beliefs and religious practices.
The revelation also highlights the deeply personal routines many artistes maintain behind the scenes while creating music that audiences eventually enjoy publicly.
Despite the challenges that come with the entertainment industry, Kojo Blak says his trust in God remains the foundation of his music career and personal life.
As his popularity continues to grow, fans are increasingly becoming interested not only in his music but also in the mindset and spiritual principles guiding his artistic journey.
