Sonnie Badu Sends Message to Black Stars After World Cup Squad Announcement

Gospel musician and preacher Sonnie Badu has extended his support and best wishes to the Black Stars following the announcement of Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by head coach Carlos Queiroz.

In a Facebook post shared on Monday, June 1, Sonnie Badu encouraged the players to remain focused and determined as they prepare to represent Ghana on football’s biggest stage.

“Dear Black Stars, I wish you all the best as you embark on this incredible opportunity to prove your worth. Remember, football is Ghana’s pride, and the world is watching. Please, don’t let us down. May God be with you all,” he wrote.

The award-winning gospel minister also urged Ghanaians to rally behind the national team ahead of the tournament, stressing the importance of unity and support as the players prepare for the global competition.

Sonnie Badu noted that the players have the talent and ability to make the country proud if they remain disciplined, focused, and committed throughout the tournament.

His message comes shortly after Carlos Queiroz officially unveiled Ghana’s final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Black Stars are expected to begin preparations ahead of their opening group-stage fixtures as fans continue to react to the squad selection and Ghana’s chances at the tournament.
