The fallout between International God’s Way Church founder Bishop Daniel Obinim and his former wife, Florence, appears far from over following the emergence of a new audio recording in which the preacher makes fresh allegations about their marriage.

In the recording, Bishop Obinim reportedly told Florence to stop using his surname, claiming that their marriage had ended after he accepted a drink she presented as a symbol of their separation.

The preacher also accused his former wife of neglecting some household responsibilities and claimed he had lost interest in their marriage long before their eventual separation.

According to Obinim, he remained in the relationship largely because Florence was the mother of his children and because they had been married for several years.

“You have embarrassed me, and I emphasise that when I die, don’t come to my funeral as a widow. Since I have accepted the drink, remove the name Obinim from your name,” he said in the audio.

Bishop Obinim further alleged that Florence rarely cooked for him during their marriage, claiming that her sister, Comfort, was responsible for most of the cooking.

He questioned how often Florence performed certain household duties, including washing his clothes and bedsheets, while also alleging that they had become emotionally distant.

“So I was no longer interested in the marriage, but I was forcing myself to be in it because you are the mother of my children. And also because we have been married for some time now,” he said.

Obinim admits to affairs during marriage

In another striking part of the audio, Bishop Obinim admitted that he had relationships with other women while he was still married to Florence.

He claimed some of those relationships lasted several years, alleging that one lasted as long as nine years.

“I told you I lost interest in the marriage. While we were married, I was having affairs with other women, and the longest affair I have been with a woman was nine years,” Obinim said.

He further claimed that he was responsible for ending those relationships, saying the women involved did not leave him.

“In fact, I was the one to break up with all these women, and the shortest dating period was five years. None of these women broke up with me,” he added.

Claims relationship had become distant

Bishop Obinim also claimed that he and Florence had stopped sharing a bed, suggesting that their relationship had become emotionally distant before their separation.

He said he had not missed Florence since leaving their home approximately two months earlier and insisted that his decision was not motivated by a lack of intimacy.

“I have never missed you for once ever since I left you for the past two months. You don’t sleep beside me,” he stated.

He also alleged that Florence would leave the house early in the morning and return late at night.

“When I was staying with you, you left my house around 6 am and came home around 11 pm. I don’t even miss you because of sex,” he said.

The latest audio has added another dimension to the public fallout between Bishop Obinim and Florence following reports of the end of their marriage.

However, the allegations and claims contained in the recording are statements attributed to Bishop Obinim and have not been independently verified. Florence’s response to the latest allegations was not included in the material available for this report.
