Creative and blogger Joseph Adjei Junior, popularly known as BlacVolta, has publicly apologised following intense backlash over resurfaced old tweets linked to his past social media activity.
The statement, released on Thursday, May 14, 2026, comes amid growing online discussions surrounding BlacVolta’s alleged association with socialite SoAfrican, who was recently arrested in connection with an alleged online sexual exploitation case currently under investigation.

Over the past few days, screenshots of old tweets and videos allegedly connected to BlacVolta circulated widely across social media platforms, especially X (formerly Twitter). Some users also pointed to his friendship and previous collaborations with SoAfrican, fueling further criticism and public debate online.
According to reports and online reactions, some of the resurfaced posts contained comments and jokes many social media users considered disturbing, insensitive, and inappropriate. The backlash quickly intensified, with many demanding accountability from the blogger and content creator.
In his statement, BlacVolta explained that the posts originated from an older personal X account he used between 2010 and 2011 before it later transitioned into the official BlacVolta account known today.
While addressing the controversy, he claimed that some screenshots currently circulating online were not authentic. However, he admitted that certain posts from that period were indeed offensive and unacceptable.
“I also recognise that there were posts connected to that period that were very offensive, insensitive, and wrong,” he stated in the apology.
BlacVolta further acknowledged that some of the language and jokes made during that time appeared to normalise and trivialise serious sexual violence issues. He admitted that the resurfaced content had caused disappointment, anger, and emotional pain, particularly among women and survivors of abuse.
The blogger also stressed that personal growth does not erase the impact of past actions, adding that he takes full responsibility for the hurt caused by the offensive posts. According to him, the experience has become a moment of reflection and accountability.

As part of efforts to do better moving forward, BlacVolta revealed plans to work closely with organisations in Ghana focused on gender-based violence awareness, women’s empowerment, and responsible digital culture. He added that he intends to use his platform more responsibly while helping to create safer online spaces.
The controversy has sparked widespread discussions online about accountability, digital footprints, and the long-term impact of social media content. Many users believe public figures should be held accountable for harmful past statements, while others argue that people should be allowed room for growth and change over time.
Despite the divided reactions online, BlacVolta says he remains committed to learning from the situation and rebuilding trust with his audience through responsible actions moving forward.
