Cristiano Ronaldo marries Georgina Rodriguez after nearly a decade together, with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner and his longtime partner tying the knot in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.
The intimate ceremony took place on Tuesday and was attended by the couple’s five children, marking a major milestone in their relationship.

Ronaldo confirmed the marriage on Instagram by sharing a photograph of their wedding rings alongside the caption “C❤️G.” A representative for the Portuguese football superstar also confirmed that the couple are officially husband and wife.
Ronaldo and Georgina marry in Portugal
According to the representative, the ceremony was deliberately kept private and focused on the couple and their family.
“Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were married today in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, and are now officially husband and wife,” the representative said.
The couple’s decision to hold a private ceremony reflects Ronaldo’s previous comments about their wedding plans. The Al-Nassr forward had indicated that they wanted an intimate celebration rather than a large public event.
The marriage comes after almost 10 years of a relationship that has attracted enormous international attention.
Ronaldo and Georgina’s decade-long relationship
Ronaldo and Rodriguez reportedly met in Madrid in 2016 while Rodriguez was working at a Gucci store.
Their relationship became public the following year, and the couple gradually built a family together.
They welcomed twins Mateo and Eva through surrogacy in 2017. Rodriguez later gave birth to their daughter, Alana Martina.
In 2022, the couple welcomed another daughter, Bella Esmeralda. However, the family also experienced a devastating loss when their newborn son, Angel, died during childbirth.
Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr., is also part of the family, bringing the number of children in their household to five.
Georgina Rodriguez receives diamond engagement ring
Ronaldo proposed to Rodriguez in 2025, presenting her with a large diamond engagement ring.
The engagement generated considerable attention from fans and international media, with speculation growing about when and where the couple would eventually marry.
More recently, reports suggested that the ceremony could take place at Funchal Cathedral in Madeira, leading thousands of fans to gather outside the venue.
However, the crowd later discovered that the ceremony taking place there was for another Portuguese couple, Fabio Ramos and Fatima Nicole Cunha Teixeira.

Ronaldo wanted a private wedding
Despite the intense public interest surrounding their relationship, Ronaldo had previously suggested that he and Rodriguez preferred to keep their wedding away from the spotlight.
The football star had indicated that they planned to marry after the World Cup and suggested that Rodriguez favoured a private occasion rather than a lavish public celebration.
Their civil ceremony in Cascais appears to have followed that approach, with only close family members attending.
The wedding marks the beginning of a new chapter for Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez, whose relationship has evolved from a meeting in Madrid into a family life shared in the global spotlight.
After years of speculation about their wedding plans, the couple have now officially become husband and wife, surrounded by their children and close family in Portugal.
