Stonebwoy Fires Back at Shatta Wale: ‘Aren’t You Tired of Lying?’

Ghanaian Afro-dancehall star Stonebwoy has responded to recent comments made by his long-time rival Shatta Wale, dismissing the claims and accusing the dancehall artiste of spreading falsehoods.

Stonebwoy’s response came just hours after a teaser for The Honest Bunch Podcast surfaced online, in which Shatta Wale made several claims about their relationship. Among other remarks, Shatta Wale alleged that Stonebwoy once referred to him as “daddy” during the early stages of his music career and claimed that the BHIM Nation president could not face him because “my spirit is too big for him.”

Reacting on social media, Stonebwoy shared a photograph taken during the Black Stars’ FIFA World Cup fundraising event, where both musicians were seen embracing publicly.

Accompanying the image, Stonebwoy wrote:

“The last time you saw me, you hugged me like an obsessed woman. Aren’t you tired of lying?”

The post appeared to challenge Shatta Wale’s version of events, with Stonebwoy suggesting that their recent public interaction contradicts the narrative presented in the podcast teaser.

Shatta Wale’s claims

During the interview preview, Shatta Wale claimed Stonebwoy frequently visited him when he was an up-and-coming artiste and looked up to him as a mentor.

He further alleged that their relationship changed after Stonebwoy gained recognition in the music industry and that media comparisons between them affected their friendship.

Shatta Wale also claimed that Stonebwoy struggles to face him because of his confidence and suggested the BHIM Nation president harbours resentment towards veteran reggae and dancehall artiste Samini.

Fans react online

Stonebwoy’s response quickly generated widespread discussion across social media, with fans of both artistes debating the latest exchange between the two Ghanaian music stars.

While some supporters praised Stonebwoy for responding directly to the allegations, others defended Shatta Wale, arguing that the podcast episode may provide more context once it is released in full.

The latest exchange adds another chapter to one of Ghana’s longest-running rivalries in the entertainment industry. Over the years, the two musicians have repeatedly traded remarks through interviews, songs and social media, although they have occasionally appeared together at public events.

For now, neither Stonebwoy nor Shatta Wale has indicated whether they intend to continue the public back-and-forth following their latest exchange.
