Medikal has expressed his full support and admiration for Black Sherif following his Artiste of the Year victory, stating that the award was truly deserved.
Speaking during an interview on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown on Saturday, May 17, the rapper opened up about how genuinely happy he felt seeing Black Sherif take home the top honour.

According to Medikal, Black Sherif’s success story reflects hard work, perseverance and determination, qualities that have always been evident in his music from the beginning of his career.
“If you listen to Blacko’s songs from day one, the content is about struggling and trying to make it, coming from the street. So he’s a street boy, blessed by God,” Medikal said during the interview.
The rapper explained that Black Sherif’s music resonates with many people because it tells authentic stories about survival, hustle and overcoming challenges. He noted that the award was a true reflection of the journey Black Sherif has gone through to rise from the streets to becoming one of Ghana’s biggest music stars.
Medikal further stated that he felt the same level of joy watching Black Sherif win as he would have felt if he had personally received the award himself.
“So Blacko winning Artiste of the Year is equally deserving as me picking the plaque. The joy I would have felt if I had won was the same joy I felt when Blacko won Artiste of the Year. I’m happy for him. Clapping my hands and nodding for him, I was happy for my brother,” he added.
The comments from Medikal have since received praise from fans on social media, with many applauding the rapper for showing maturity, unity and support within the Ghanaian music industry.

Black Sherif’s Artiste of the Year victory has continued to dominate conversations in the entertainment space, with several celebrities, fans and industry players congratulating him on the achievement.
Over the past few years, Black Sherif has grown into one of the most influential voices in African music, earning recognition both locally and internationally through his emotionally driven songs and unique storytelling style.
Medikal’s public endorsement of Black Sherif’s win highlights the growing sense of unity among Ghanaian musicians and the appreciation artists have for each other’s journeys and achievements in the industry.
