Felix Afena-Gyan has reportedly suffered a robbery incident while away on international duty with the Ghana national football team last week.
According to reports, the Ghanaian forward’s residence in Italy was broken into while he was away representing the Black Stars during their international friendly against Mexico national football team over the weekend.

The Turkish-based attacker featured in Ghana’s 2-0 defeat to Mexico, which formed part of preparations ahead of upcoming international competitions and the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
Afena-Gyan played 67 minutes in the match before being substituted.
However, upon returning to Italy after the international assignment, the footballer reportedly discovered that his home had been robbed, with several personal belongings allegedly stolen during the incident.
Details regarding the exact items taken and the estimated value of the stolen belongings have not yet been publicly disclosed.
It also remains unclear whether arrests have been made or investigations officially launched by Italian authorities following the reported break-in.
The incident has sparked concern among fans on social media, with many sympathising with the young footballer over the unfortunate experience.
Afena-Gyan, who rose to prominence after his breakthrough performances in Italy, remains one of Ghana’s notable young football talents playing abroad.
Over the years, he has attracted attention for his pace, attacking ability and performances for both club and country.

The striker has also remained part of Ghana’s national team setup as the Black Stars continue preparations toward future international tournaments, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Incidents involving footballers becoming targets of robberies while away on professional duties have become increasingly common in different parts of Europe in recent years.
Several players across major leagues have previously suffered burglaries while travelling with their clubs or national teams for matches and tournaments.
The latest incident involving Afena-Gyan adds to growing concerns about the security of footballers’ homes during periods when they are away on assignments.
Meanwhile, supporters continue to send messages of encouragement to the Ghanaian forward as he recovers from the incident and focuses on his football career.
