Founder of RuffTown Records, Bullet, has called on organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) to reconcile with dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and bring him back into the awards scheme.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on Wednesday, May 13, Bullet stated that Shatta Wale’s involvement in the TGMA always brings excitement, energy, and healthy competition to the event.

According to him, the awards scheme becomes more entertaining whenever the SM boss is actively involved.
“I think they should bring back Shatta Wale. If only they are willing to and would listen to me, they should bring him back,” Bullet said during the interview.
The music executive explained that although people may hold different opinions about the controversial artiste, he strongly believes Shatta Wale’s presence would help boost fan engagement and increase public interest in the awards ceremony.
“They should bring him back to make it more fun because, after all, he is still a Ghanaian musician, so they should talk things out with him and bring him back,” he added.
Bullet further emphasized that Shatta Wale’s massive fanbase, popularly known as the SM family, contributes greatly to the atmosphere and excitement surrounding any event he participates in.
“I do not care if anybody disagrees, but I am saying what I also think, and it is not because he is bigger than the others, but because if he is involved in something, his fanbase makes it fun.
We all need competition, and I know when SM is involved in something, no doubt it makes it fun,” he stated.
Shatta Wale has had a complicated relationship with the TGMA scheme over the years, especially following the controversial incident at the 2019 edition of the awards involving fellow dancehall artiste Stonebwoy.
The altercation happened after Stonebwoy was announced winner of the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year category. During celebrations on stage, confusion erupted between members of both camps, leading to chaos inside the auditorium.
The situation escalated after Stonebwoy pulled a gun on stage, causing panic among patrons and forcing organizers to temporarily halt the event. Following the incident, both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were arrested and later granted bail.

The incident remains one of the most controversial moments in the history of the TGMA and significantly affected Shatta Wale’s relationship with the awards scheme.
Over the years, the artiste has repeatedly criticized the event and its organizers, while fans continue debating whether he should return.
Bullet’s latest comments have now reignited conversations on social media, with many fans agreeing that Shatta Wale’s presence would restore excitement and competitiveness to the awards ceremony.
Others, however, believe the TGMA has moved on from the controversy and should maintain its current direction.
