Ghanaian musician Fameye has opened up about his desire to collaborate with dancehall star Shatta Wale, despite sensing that there may be some tension between them.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on Wednesday, April 15, Fameye revealed that Shatta Wale remains one of the top artistes he would love to feature on a song. His comments have sparked interest among fans, given the perceived distance between the two musicians.

“That one person whose verse I’d love on my song, but I feel is mad at me, is Shatta Wale,” Fameye disclosed during the interview.
He went on to explain that the two once shared a close relationship, frequently communicating and even making plans to collaborate on music projects. According to him, their bond was built on consistent interaction, including exchanging voice notes and discussing creative ideas.
“He was my very good friend. We used to talk a lot on WhatsApp. We shared voice notes, we talked, and we even planned to have records together. And all of a sudden, I don’t know what happened,” he said.
Fameye admitted that he is uncertain about what may have caused the apparent breakdown in communication. However, he suggested that it could be linked to something he may have said unintentionally, though he emphasised that he always acts in good faith.
“Maybe I may have said something somewhere that didn’t sit well with him, I don’t know. To the best of my knowledge, I’m a very genuine person, and I feel I do things intentionally,” he explained.
The ‘Praise’ hitmaker was quick to clarify that if he had ever offended Shatta Wale, it was not done deliberately. He stressed that his actions are always guided by sincerity and professionalism.
“If I have ever done anything to him, it’s not with bad intentions. It is because I’m doing what I’m supposed to do,” he added.
When asked why he believes Shatta Wale might be upset, Fameye pointed to the lack of communication between them. He noted that their once frequent interactions have ceased, which has led him to assume that something may be wrong.
“It’s because he’s not responding. We used to talk a lot before. You may know him on another level, but for the level I know him, this is what I feel,” he said.

Despite the uncertainty, Fameye dismissed any negative assumptions and reaffirmed his admiration for the dancehall star. He expressed genuine respect for Shatta Wale, both as an artiste and as a person, and maintained that he still hopes to work with him in the future.
“Let’s not make assumptions. I love Shatta Wale so much, and I’d love to get him on a song. Even that aside, I love him for who he is,” he stated.
Fameye concluded by expressing optimism that they can reconnect, not only professionally but also on a personal level. His remarks highlight the complexities of relationships within the music industry while also underscoring the importance of communication and mutual respect.
As fans react to his comments, many will be hoping that the two artistes can resolve any differences and eventually deliver the collaboration that Fameye—and many music lovers—are looking forward to.
