Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has recounted a frightening experience aboard a flight from Kumasi to Accra, saying sudden movements of the aircraft left passengers fearing for their safety.
The actor shared the experience during an interview on Lawson TV, explaining that the incident happened shortly after he had recovered from an illness he developed following the filming of his movie, A Journey to Africa.
According to Lil Win, he travelled to Accra despite still recovering because he had an important meeting concerning plans to premiere the movie at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Heavy rain preceded the flight scare
Recounting the incident, Lil Win said heavy rainfall began shortly before the aircraft was scheduled to depart Kumasi.
Although the weather conditions raised concerns, the pilot eventually proceeded with the take-off.
However, the situation became frightening when the aircraft reportedly began making sudden and sharp upward and downward movements, triggering panic among passengers.
The actor said several people on board began shouting as the aircraft moved unexpectedly.
Despite his own fear, Lil Win said he tried to reassure other passengers and encourage them to remain calm.
“We were all shouting, but I kept calming them down and telling them everything would be okay,” he recounted.
He added that the situation eventually became more stable after the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, allowing passengers to regain their composure.
Ashanti Regional Minister reportedly among passengers
The account also indicated that the Ashanti Regional Minister was among those aboard the flight and experienced the frightening moments.
The flight reportedly experienced a delay of approximately 30 to 40 minutes before take-off.
However, the precise cause of the aircraft’s sudden movements has not been officially established in the information available.

Following the incident, a request for an investigation was reportedly submitted to aviation authorities to establish what happened during the flight.
