A-Plus has explained why Shatta Wale has not performed at London’s O2 Arena, claiming the venue is too small to accommodate the dancehall star’s massive fan base.

The Gomoa Central MP and outspoken Shatta Wale supporter said the Shatta Wale O2 Arena question has largely been influenced by concerns over crowd numbers, with the artiste’s team instead exploring larger venues for a potential major London concert.

Shatta Wale O2 Arena

Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz, A-Plus said the 4Lyfe and Shatta Movement camps believe holding a concert at the O2 Arena could create serious crowd-management concerns.

“As for us, the 4Lyfe and SM Movement family, the reason we can’t hold a concert at the O2 is because that place is too small for us.”

A-Plus says O2 Arena is too small for Shatta Wale

According to A-Plus, Shatta Wale’s large following could make it difficult for the O2 Arena to safely accommodate everyone who would want to attend his concert.

“If Shatta plays a concert at such a space, people might get hurt or even die because the crowd is too much.”

He suggested that the artiste’s team would rather target a much larger venue capable of accommodating tens of thousands of fans.

Shatta Wale eyeing Wembley or Tottenham Stadium

A-Plus said the team is exploring the possibility of staging a future concert at Wembley Stadium, which can accommodate more than 80,000 spectators for major events.

“We are trying to see if they would give us Wembley. We would fill up Wembley Stadium, which has a capacity of about 80,000.”

He added that Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could also be considered as an alternative venue.

“That is where we want to play, or maybe Tottenham Stadium.”

A-Plus congratulates Stonebwoy

A-Plus also used the opportunity to congratulate Stonebwoy on his international achievements and encouraged other Ghanaian musicians to pursue major stages around the world.

He argued that successful international concerts could benefit not only individual artistes but also Ghana’s tourism and creative arts sectors.

“We would also congratulate Stonebwoy and urge all artistes to also try and do it.”

However, A-Plus stressed that sponsorship and broader industry support remain important if Ghanaian artistes are to successfully stage major international concerts.

“As we are saying all of this, support and sponsorship are also very important.”

His comments come as Ghanaian artistes continue to expand their presence in international markets, with major UK performances increasingly becoming an important platform for showcasing Ghanaian music to global audiences.

The push for larger venues reflects the growing ambition among Ghanaian musicians to compete on major international platforms. A successful stadium concert in London could create significant commercial opportunities through ticket sales, sponsorships, tourism and global media attention.

For Shatta Wale, performing at Wembley or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would also represent a major milestone for the Shatta Movement and Ghanaian dancehall. However, filling such a large venue requires extensive planning, marketing and financial backing.

A-Plus therefore believes sponsorship and industry support will be crucial in helping Ghanaian artistes turn ambitious international projects into successful realities while strengthening the country’s global music presence.
