Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats star KiDi has officially confirmed his departure from Lynx Entertainment, marking the end of a highly successful partnership that played a major role in shaping his career.
The award-winning singer made the revelation during a TikTok Live session with content creator Code Micky, where he responded to questions from fans about his current status with the record label.

When asked directly whether he was still signed to Lynx Entertainment, KiDi simply replied, “No, I am no longer with Lynx,” confirming widespread speculation about his exit.
His departure signals a new chapter in his musical journey, as he transitions into working as an independent artiste. According to KiDi, the process leading to his exit had been gradual and began around the time he released “Gymnastic,” a collaboration with Olivetheboy and Kojo Blak.
The project hinted at a shift in direction, both creatively and professionally, as he began exploring opportunities outside the label structure.
KiDi joined Lynx Entertainment in 2016 after winning the MTN Hitmaker competition in 2015, a moment that served as the launching pad for his rise in the Ghanaian music industry.
Under the Lynx umbrella, he developed into one of the most recognizable voices in Afrobeats and highlife, delivering multiple hit songs that resonated both locally and internationally.
Some of his most popular tracks, including “Say You Love Me,” “Enjoyment,” and the global hit “Touch It,” were released during his time with the label.
His albums Sugar and The Golden Boy further established him as a leading figure in contemporary African music, earning him numerous awards and critical acclaim.
Beyond Ghana, KiDi’s music found a global audience, particularly with “Touch It,” which gained traction on international charts and social media platforms. The success of the song helped position him as one of the key contributors to the global expansion of Afrobeats.
Despite parting ways with Lynx Entertainment, KiDi appears to be maintaining strong momentum.
His recent single “Signature,” featuring Lasmid, has been receiving significant airplay and streaming numbers, indicating that his transition into independence is already gaining traction.
Going independent presents both opportunities and challenges for artistes, as it allows for greater creative control and ownership while also requiring more responsibility in areas such as marketing, distribution, and management.
For KiDi, however, his experience, brand strength, and established fan base are expected to provide a solid foundation for this next phase.

His decision reflects a growing trend within the music industry, where established artistes choose independence after building their careers under major labels.
This shift often allows them to explore new sounds, partnerships, and business models on their own terms.
While KiDi has not disclosed full details about his future plans, fans and industry observers are eager to see how he evolves as an independent artiste.
With his track record of hit-making and his strong connection with audiences, expectations are high.
As he embarks on this new journey, one thing remains clear: KiDi’s influence on Ghana’s music scene is far from over, and his next moves could redefine the trajectory of his already impressive career.
