Chelsea FC have parted ways with head coach Liam Rosenior following a disappointing run of form that has seen the club slip in the Premier League standings.

Rosenior, who only took charge in January on a five-and-a-half-year contract, leaves after overseeing 23 matches in all competitions, winning just 11 of them. The final blow came in a heavy 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, a result that sparked frustration among supporters. Travelling Chelsea fans made their feelings clear during the match, directing chants at the team and coaching staff as the situation worsened on the pitch.
Speaking after the defeat, Rosenior did not shy away from criticism, describing the performance as “indefensible” and “unacceptable.” His candid assessment reflected the growing pressure surrounding his position in the days leading up to his dismissal.
In an official statement, Chelsea acknowledged Rosenior’s professionalism during his short tenure but emphasised that results had fallen below the club’s expectations.
“Liam has always conducted himself with the highest integrity and professionalism following his appointment midway through the season,” the statement read.
“This has not been a decision the club has taken lightly; however, recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards with still so much more to play for this season.”
