TGMA 2026: Full List of Nominees for the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards Announced

The organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards have officially unveiled the nominees for the 27th edition of the prestigious music awards scheme, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated events in Ghana’s entertainment calendar.

The announcement was made on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Palms Convention Centre, where key industry players, artistes, media personalities and music fans gathered to witness the unveiling of nominees across the various award categories.

Organised by Charterhouse Productions, the Telecel Ghana Music Awards has over the years become the biggest platform for recognising excellence and achievements in the Ghanaian music industry.

Although the venue and date for the main awards ceremony are yet to be announced, the release of the nominees officially marks the beginning of the awards season, with fans now able to start voting for their favourite artistes and songs.

This year’s nominations feature some of the biggest names in Ghanaian music, including Black Sherif, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Wendy Shay, Medikal and Diana Hamilton, who have all secured nominations in the highly competitive Artiste of the Year category.

Other notable artistes who received multiple nominations across several categories include KiDi, Kofi Kinaata, Kuami Eugene, King Promise and Gyakie.

The Best Hiplife Song of the Year category features nominees such as Shoulder by Medikal featuring Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM, Habit by Fameye featuring Medikal, Tontonte by Kojo Cue featuring AraTheJay and Ofori Amponsah, Next Door by Kojo Blak featuring Sarkodie, Messiah by Sarkodie featuring Kweku Flick and Badness by Kwesi Amewuga.

In the Best Highlife Song of the Year category, songs competing for the award include It Is Finished by Kofi Kinaata, Foko by King Paluta, Asor Remix by Kwabena Kwabena featuring Stonebwoy and Kofi Kinaata, Obi Adi by Amerado and Do Better by Kuami Eugene.

The Best Afrobeats Song of the Year category includes Excellent by Kojo Blak featuring Kelvyn Boy, Gymnastic by KiDi featuring OliveTheBoy and Kojo Blak, Crazy Love by Wendy Shay featuring OliveTheBoy, OMG by Mr Drew featuring OliveTheBoy and Issues by Lasmid featuring King Promise.

The Best Afropop Song of the Year category also features major hits including Sacrifice by Black Sherif, Gidi Gidi by Stonebwoy, Bend by OliveTheBoy featuring Sarkodie, Sankofa by Gyakie, Olivia by Lasmid and See What We’ve Done by King Promise featuring Mr Eazi.

The Most Popular Song of the Year category is expected to be one of the most competitive, with songs such as Gymnastic by KiDi featuring OliveTheBoy and Kojo Blak, Sacrifice by Black Sherif, Excellent by Kojo Blak featuring Kelvyn Boy, Shoulder by Medikal featuring Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM, Olivia by Lasmid and Shake It To The Max by Moliy featuring Shenseea, Skillibeng and Silent Addy all making the list.

In the Album/EP of the Year category, nominated projects include Iron Boy by Black Sherif, Torcher by Stonebwoy, After Midnight by Gyakie, Disturbation 2 by Medikal, Ready by Wendy Shay and Walk With Me by Kweku Smoke.

Meanwhile, rising talents such as Kojo Blak, Gona Boy, Lalid and Adom Kiki will compete for the Best New Artiste of the Year award.

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards continues to serve as a major platform that celebrates the creativity, growth and global impact of Ghanaian music, while recognising artistes, producers, songwriters and other industry professionals who contribute to the development of the industry.

With voting now open and anticipation building ahead of the main awards ceremony, music fans across Ghana and the diaspora are expected to closely follow the awards season as the race for the prestigious TGMA trophies intensifies.
