Bullgod Calls Shatta Wale the Most Difficult Artiste He Has Managed

Artiste manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has disclosed that dancehall superstar Shatta Wale was the most difficult artiste he has ever managed in his career.

Speaking in an interview with George Quaye on Joy Prime on Wednesday, October 1, Bullgod admitted that working with Shatta Wale came with countless challenges that nearly cost him long-standing personal and professional relationships.

“The most difficult management ever? Oh, it would be Shatta Wale,” Bullgod confessed. “For him, I nearly made enemies with everybody that I had built a relationship with along the way.”

He recalled how the outspoken nature of the “Ayoo” hitmaker frequently landed them in disputes with media houses and industry stakeholders.

“You did Joy FM, you did YFM, you did Peace FM — everywhere he went, he would talk and start another fire,” he explained. “At that time, I was also working with Charterhouse, and if your artiste insults your boss and his wife, you can imagine the feeling. It wasn’t easy at all.”

Despite the difficulties, Bullgod described his time with Shatta Wale as a valuable test of his patience and resilience.

“It wasn’t easy… but I think it was a test for me, and I’m hoping I did well with the test,” he reflected.

Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most influential and controversial artistes. His career has been defined by both massive commercial success and frequent clashes with industry players.

While the Bullgod–Shatta Wale partnership often attracted headlines for its turbulence, it remains one of the most impactful artiste-manager relationships in Ghana’s entertainment industry, shaping both men’s reputations in profound ways.

Bullgod and Shatta Wale first started working together in the early 2010s. Their professional relationship is often traced back to around 2013, when Bullgod officially became Shatta Wale’s manager after Wale’s big comeback to the music scene.

They worked closely for several years, parting ways publicly in 2015 after tensions between them. However, they later reunited in 2018 and continued working together until another fallout around 2022.

So in total, if you combine both periods, they worked together for roughly 7–8 years, though the partnership was on-and-off.
