The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has rolled out a nationwide revenue mobilisation drive dubbed “Operation All Must Pay” in an effort to recover outstanding debts from customers across the country.
The exercise, which began on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, will run until Tuesday, September 30, 2025. It targets all categories of customers in arrears, including residential consumers, businesses, industries, and government institutions such as Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

In a statement, ECG explained that the operation will include bill distribution, streetlight and SHEP meter capturing, and systematic reporting. Special task teams have been deployed nationwide to supervise the exercise, with the mandate to arrest and prosecute individuals found engaging in illegal connections, self-reconnections after disconnection, or any attempts to obstruct the process.
The company has urged customers with unpaid bills to settle their arrears promptly to avoid service disconnection and additional costs in reconnection fees.
ECG further encouraged customers to take advantage of its digital and in-person payment options, including the ECG Mobile App and physical offices across the country, to make payments or seek clarification on outstanding balances.

According to ECG, the mobilisation exercise is not only aimed at recovering debts but also at promoting a culture of regular payment and accountability in electricity consumption. The company stressed that timely payments are essential for sustaining operations, expanding access, and improving electricity services nationwide.
With the deadline fast approaching, ECG has advised customers to prioritise clearing their arrears to avoid inconveniences during the ongoing “Operation All Must Pay.”
