Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artist Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has revealed that he has once again been blocked on social media by Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Ghana Black Stars. Despite this, the award-winning musician emphasized that he holds no grudges and continues to respect Gyan as a “big brother.”
The surprising revelation came during a live video session Stonebwoy posted on June 25, in which he reflected on people in his life whom he considers as mentors or elder figures, even if communication between them has been minimal in recent times.
“Asamoah Gyan has been a big brother from time. I’ve hardly heard from him lately. I think the last time I checked, I was blocked,” Stonebwoy disclosed with a calm tone.
This isn’t the first instance of such a situation between the two Ghanaian stars. Stonebwoy recalled a previous moment when Gyan had also blocked him, though it turned out to be a misunderstanding with no clear cause. “I don’t know but that wouldn’t be the first time. The last time, we checked and he was like I didn’t do nothing. We checked and realised it was nothing,” he said, reflecting on how unresolved the issue seemed then as well.
Although there’s still no explanation for the latest block, the BHIM Nation frontman explained that he chooses not to internalize or take such situations personally. Instead, he extended understanding and empathy toward Gyan, suggesting that everyone may be fighting unseen battles.
“Everybody is going through different things so you can’t take it too hard. Once you know your heart is pure and everything is clean, and especially when there is no room for conversation, you can’t really do too much,” he shared.
Stonebwoy’s measured response has been widely praised by fans and observers alike. Many have applauded his emotional maturity and grace in handling the matter without stirring controversy. Others took to social media to express surprise at the development, especially given the previously publicized camaraderie between the two high-profile figures.

Nevertheless, Stonebwoy emphasized that his regard for Gyan remains unshaken, describing him as someone who has supported him in the past and continues to hold a place of respect in his heart.
