Black Stars Open Camp Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers Against Chad and Mali

The Black Stars of Ghana will begin preparations for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali with camp opening on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The team, led by head coach Otto Addo, will hold training sessions on September 1 and 2 before departing for N’Djamena on Tuesday evening. Ghana is set to take on Chad on Thursday, September 4 at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno.

Following the away fixture, the Black Stars will return home to Ghana on Friday, September 5 for a recovery session at the Accra Sports Stadium. The session will be open to the media and the public, giving fans an opportunity to see their stars up close.

Attention will then shift to the second match of the international window, with Ghana set to face Mali on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Currently, the Black Stars top Group I of the African qualifiers with 15 points from six matches, having secured five wins and one defeat. The team’s impressive run has put them in a strong position to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.

Coach Otto Addo will be counting on the blend of experienced players and youthful talents in his recently announced 25-man squad to deliver results in both matches. The return of key players such as Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus is expected to provide the much-needed balance in midfield and attack.

With Ghana aiming to maintain its top spot in the group and edge closer to a ticket to the World Cup, the upcoming fixtures against Chad and Mali are seen as decisive. Fans across the nation will be hoping the Black Stars continue their fine form and keep the qualification dream alive.
