The Black Stars of Ghana will depart Accra on Tuesday, September 2, for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad.
Otto Addo has named a 24-man squad, and all invited players are expected to make the trip to N’Djamena. The team has been training in Accra to fine-tune preparations for the must-win encounter.

On Monday, 12 players trained at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the rest of the squad set to link up ahead of Tuesday’s departure. The Stars will have their final training session in N’Djamena on Wednesday, before facing Chad on Thursday, September 4, at 1 pm at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno.
The Black Stars currently lead Group I with 15 points from six matches, having won five and lost one. A victory against Chad would further strengthen their grip at the top of the table as they aim for a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance.

After the Chad game, Ghana will return to Accra to host Mali on September 8, before wrapping up their qualifiers in October with matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
The squad’s blend of experienced internationals and rising stars has boosted confidence among fans, who are hopeful of seeing the Black Stars return to the world stage in 2026.
