Jelvis Kwame Baidoo Reacts to Effia MP’s Job Concerns

Community advocate and philanthropist Jelvis Kwame Baidoo has responded to recent remarks made by the Member of Parliament for Effia, Isaac Yaw Boamah, regarding the employment situation in the constituency.

During proceedings in Parliament of Ghana, the Effia lawmaker reportedly raised concerns about the lack of job opportunities in the constituency, highlighting unemployment as a pressing issue affecting many young people in the area.

The statement has since sparked conversations within the community, with several residents and stakeholders sharing their views on the matter. Among those who have reacted is Jelvis Kwame Baidoo, who believes the situation calls for constructive dialogue and practical solutions to tackle unemployment in Effia.

According to Mr. Baidoo, while the concern raised by the MP reflects a challenge that many communities face, the focus should now shift toward identifying opportunities that can create sustainable employment for the youth.

He emphasized that with the right initiatives, collaboration, and investment in skills development, Effia can unlock new economic opportunities. He also encouraged leaders and community stakeholders to explore innovative ways of empowering young people through entrepreneurship, training programmes, and support for small businesses.

Mr. Baidoo further noted that community-driven initiatives can play a crucial role in addressing unemployment. He pointed out that structured training programmes and the promotion of practical skills can help young people become self-reliant while contributing to the development of the local economy.

Beyond job creation initiatives, Mr. Baidoo has also been actively supporting education opportunities for young people in the community. In 2025, he facilitated admission opportunities for seven students from Effiakuma to gain admission into seven different universities in the United States with 100% tuition scholarships. Unfortunately, two of the students were unable to continue the process after their F-1 student visas were denied, despite successfully securing full scholarships.

This effort, however, highlights Mr. Baidoo’s commitment to expanding opportunities for young people beyond local boundaries and giving them access to world-class education.

He also highlighted the importance of supporting creative industries and digital opportunities, noting that the rise of content creation, media, and technology-driven platforms has opened new avenues for employment among the youth.

According to him, empowering young people with the right tools, mentorship, and support systems can help transform challenges into opportunities.

As discussions continue, many residents in the Effia Constituency remain hopeful that collaborative efforts between leaders, community advocates, and development partners will lead to meaningful interventions that improve livelihoods and create more opportunities for the youth.

For Mr. Jelvis Kwame Baidoo, the way forward lies in unity, action, and a shared commitment to building a future where young people can thrive within their own communities.
