A teenager at the centre of a disturbing viral video in Effiakuma has recounted how he was allegedly dragged from his hostel, assaulted, and forced into sexual intercourse with a young girl by the roadside at Effia Cocoa Villa.
The victim’s account was first reported by 3News and shared during an interview on Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show with host Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson. Speaking publicly for the first time, the teenager described the incident as traumatic and humiliating.

According to him, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. when the Assembly Member for Effiakuma West, Edward Senam Azalekor, allegedly arrived at his hostel with three other individuals and a girl they claimed he was in a relationship with. He said he was accused and ordered into their vehicle without being given an opportunity to explain himself.
“They took me to their vehicle and drove me to a vulcanizing shop around Effia Cocoa Villa. The girl’s mother was there when I arrived,” the teenager recounted.
He further alleged that the situation escalated when he resisted certain demands. According to his narration, one of the men retrieved a belt from the vehicle and began beating both him and the girl. He claimed they were then forced to engage in sexual intercourse beside the roadside while others watched.
The victim said passersby observed the incident unfold, with some allegedly recording videos on their mobile phones. He added that the shame and emotional distress prevented him from immediately telling his friends what had happened.
A colleague of the victim confirmed that the group arrived at their hostel around 1 a.m. and took their friend away. He stated that attempts were made to trace the vehicle, but they were unsuccessful due to the lack of transportation. The teenager reportedly returned a few hours later but did not disclose details of the incident until the video surfaced online.

The victim’s father said he only became aware of the matter after someone showed him the viral footage. Shocked by what he saw, he confronted his son and contacted school authorities to inquire about the incident. He questioned why the matter had not been promptly reported to the police.
Meanwhile, the Western Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with the case: Edward Senam Azalekor, 52, and Martin Amuzu, 35, who is reportedly an uncle to the female involved.
The suspects were arraigned before the Harbor District Court on February 27, 2026, where they were granted bail of GH₵20,000 each and ordered to reappear in court on March 5, 2026. Police say investigations are ongoing and efforts are underway to arrest another individual believed to have filmed the incident.
The Effiakuma viral abuse case has sparked widespread public outrage, with many calling for swift justice and stronger measures to protect minors from abuse and unlawful punishment.
