Ghanaian singer Francisca Duncan Williams Gawugah, popularly known as Sista Afia, has opened up about her love life, revealing that she has been single for nearly eight years due to her attachment to one man who has never reciprocated her love fully.
Speaking candidly on The Delay Show over the weekend, Sista Afia shared that her long period of singleness is tied to her strong feelings for a man who, despite their closeness, has not given her the love and attention she longed for.
“There’s someone I truly love, but he doesn’t love me back. Funny enough, while others would go all out just to be with me, the one I care for doesn’t,” she said.
According to the Weather hitmaker, she has consistently proven her commitment over the years, but her love interest has never made her a priority.
“We’ve been close for years, and I’ve proven my love, but he doesn’t give me the same attention. That’s why I always say I love him more than he loves me,” she explained.
Sista Afia added that the man is well aware of her feelings, but their bond has not blossomed into a serious relationship.
“I’m still single. He knows himself, and because of him, I haven’t been in a proper relationship for the past eight years,” she confessed.
