Jelvis Foundation to Launch “Made in Effiakuma” to Empower 200 SHS Leavers

The Jelvis Foundation is proud to announce the upcoming launch of Made in Effiakuma, a bold new initiative designed to empower over 200 Senior High School (SHS) leavers in the Effiakuma community with essential hand skills and vocational training.

The program aims to create lasting change by offering sustainable employment pathways and boosting local entrepreneurship.

This transformative six-month training program will provide participants with practical skills in areas such as:

  • Soap-making
  • Body lotion and hair cream production
  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • Electrical installation
  • Other artisan and hand-skilled work

The project is deeply inspired by the success of OneKing Logistics, one of the companies under the leadership of Mr. Jelvis Kwame Baidoo, the Team Lead of the Jelvis Foundation. OneKing Logistics has already made strides in producing products such as OK Royal Hair and Batana Oil, which have gained recognition for their local quality and effectiveness. Made in Effiakuma will draw from this same spirit of innovation and local empowerment.

As part of the initiative, a dedicated workspace will be established within Effiakuma where all trainees will receive hands-on practical learning. Beyond training, this facility will serve as a launchpad for their products and services, with the Jelvis Foundation supporting them in:

  • Branding their goods and services
  • Marketing to hotels, offices, and institutions across the country
  • Offering these services at affordable prices to encourage nationwide patronage

This creates a two-fold impact: empowering the youth while also making essential services accessible and affordable.

Upon completion of the six-month program, each graduate will receive startup capital to help establish their own businesses within the community. The Jelvis Foundation will also provide post-training mentorship and support to ensure that these young entrepreneurs can succeed independently.

“Our goal is to not only train but to help people thrive,” says Mr. Jelvis Kwame Baidoo, who believes that local empowerment is the most sustainable way to transform communities from within.

Effiakuma is known for its vibrant youth population and potential for local enterprise. However, limited access to job opportunities and technical training often hinders development. Made in Effiakuma aims to fill this gap by equipping young people with market-ready skills and helping them build profitable ventures that can uplift the entire community.

This initiative is in line with the Jelvis Foundation’s mission to foster community development, youth empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods.

The Made in Effiakuma project is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with registration opening soon for eligible SHS leavers in the Effiakuma area. Businesses and institutions interested in partnering or supporting the initiative can contact the Jelvis Foundation via the official website.
