Jelvis Foundation Launches Bold Community Projects at EKMA

On May 17, 2025, the people of Effiakuma gathered at the EKMA Auditorium to witness a momentous occasion—the official launch of the Jelvis Foundation.

Spearheaded by businessman and philanthropist Mr. Jelvis Kwame Baidoo, the event marked the unveiling of the foundation’s core vision, major achievements, and bold new projects aimed at uplifting the Effiakuma community and beyond.

The auditorium buzzed with excitement as community leaders, youth groups, queen mothers, and dignitaries filled the space to show their support. Among the high-profile guests was legendary Ghanaian reggae musician Shasha Marley, who delivered an inspiring message about the foundation’s ongoing support for young people and its visible impact on the lives of many in the region.

During the launch, Mr. Jelvis Baidoo, the founder and team lead of the Jelvis Foundation, passionately shared the motivation behind his charitable mission. “This is the community that raised me,” he stated. “Everything I am today started right here in Effiakuma. Giving back is not a choice for me—it’s a responsibility, a calling.”

The audience warmly received the presentation of the foundation’s track record. Over the past few years, the Jelvis Foundation has funded and constructed several boreholes across the Effiakuma area. These boreholes have provided clean drinking water to neighborhoods that previously struggled with water access—transforming lives and reducing the burden on families, especially women and children.

However, the day’s biggest highlight was the announcement of the newest initiative: free WiFi for Effiakuma. Mr. Baidoo revealed that the foundation is currently executing Phase 1 of the project, with neighborhoods like Afraa, Roman Gate, Frafra Line and other areas already enjoying free and reliable internet connectivity.

The WiFi project aims to enhance digital access, support online education, and provide local businesses and students with the tools they need to succeed in a modern economy.

“This WiFi initiative is about bridging the digital divide,” Mr. Baidoo noted. “We want every child and every entrepreneur in Effiakuma to be connected, informed, and competitive. Internet access should be a right, not a privilege.”

The foundation is now preparing to begin Phase 2 of the WiFi rollout, which will expand coverage to the Effia community. This ambitious effort demonstrates the foundation’s long-term commitment to community-centered innovation and youth empowerment.

Shasha Marley, in his address, praised the foundation’s consistent efforts. “I’ve seen firsthand how the Jelvis Foundation has touched lives—from education support to community water projects. Today, they’re opening new doors through digital access. That’s real progress.”

The event concluded with cultural performances, heartfelt testimonials from beneficiaries, and a renewed sense of unity and hope among attendees. It wasn’t just a launch—it was a celebration of what happens when purpose meets action.

As the Jelvis Foundation sets its sights on future projects, one thing is clear: its mission is rooted in love for community, dedication to growth, and the unwavering belief that empowered people build thriving communities.

With leaders like Jelvis Kwame Baidoo at the helm, and the support of the people, Effiakuma and its neighboring communities are poised for transformational change.
