The Ministry for the Interior has officially announced the commencement of a nationwide recruitment exercise for four major security agencies — the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service.
According to a statement released by the Ministry, the recruitment process will open on November 15, 2025, and close on December 15, 2025, as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s internal security framework and improve public safety.

The Ministry indicated that the recruitment drive forms part of a broader initiative to “strengthen Ghana’s internal security architecture, enhance public safety, and promote effective service delivery across all security agencies.”
It further extended an invitation to “suitably qualified, disciplined, and patriotic Ghanaian citizens who desire to serve the nation with integrity, professionalism, and dedication” to apply within the given timeframe.
Detailed information on available vacancies, entry requirements, and application procedures for each security agency will be published in due course.
The statement also advised prospective applicants to carefully review all eligibility requirements before submitting their applications to avoid disqualification.
Additionally, the Ministry cautioned the public against dealing with individuals or groups who claim they can influence the recruitment process in exchange for money or other favors.
“No fees are charged at any stage of the exercise, and any applicant found submitting false documents or engaging middlemen will face automatic disqualification and possible prosecution,” the statement read.

The Ministry emphasized that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted and invited to participate in the subsequent stages of the process, which include screening, aptitude tests, and background verification.
The recruitment initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to expanding and professionalizing Ghana’s security services to ensure safety and stability across the country.
The nationwide recruitment exercise is expected to create significant employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth who are passionate about serving their country.
Many have welcomed the announcement as timely, given the growing demand for security personnel across various sectors. The government’s commitment to a transparent and merit-based process has also been praised by civil society groups and citizens alike.
As anticipation builds, thousands of prospective applicants are expected to visit the official portals of the respective security agencies once applications open. The Ministry has assured the public that updates and further details will be communicated through official government channels and verified media outlets.
