Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has publicly stated that he does not wish to reconcile with his family, marking the first time he has directly addressed long-running reports of tension between himself, his parents, and his wife.
In a series of emotional posts shared on Instagram with his more than 16 million followers, the 26-year-old accused his parents of repeatedly “attacking” him and his wife in the media and attempting to undermine his marriage. He said he had stayed silent for years in an effort to keep family matters private but felt compelled to speak out after what he described as continued press leaks.

“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
Brooklyn, the eldest son of football icon David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, said he has no intention of repairing the relationship at this time.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he stated, adding that stepping away from his family had significantly eased the anxiety he says he struggled with growing up.
A major focus of his statement centred on his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, whom he said had been “consistently disrespected” by his family. He alleged that efforts to unite as one family were repeatedly undermined, claiming his parents tried to interfere with their wedding and relationship.
Among the accusations, Brooklyn claimed that his mother cancelled plans to design Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute, forcing her to urgently find another outfit. He also alleged that Victoria “hijacked” the couple’s first dance at their wedding, describing the moment as embarrassing and distressing. These claims contradict earlier public statements from Nicola, who previously denied any feud over the wedding dress.
Brooklyn further alleged that his parents pressured him to sign away rights to his name shortly before the wedding, suggesting that his refusal affected financial arrangements and permanently altered how he was treated within the family.
He also addressed speculation surrounding his absence from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration, claiming that he and his wife travelled to London but were unable to secure private time with his father unless they attended a large, highly publicised event without Nicola present. He described this condition as a “slap in the face”.

The influencer went on to accuse his family of prioritising brand image over personal relationships, writing that “Brand Beckham comes first” and suggesting that family affection was tied to social media appearances and public promotion.
At the time of publication, representatives for David and Victoria Beckham had not responded publicly to Brooklyn’s statements. The couple have never formally acknowledged a family rift.
Brooklyn concluded his posts by saying he hopes the truth will eventually prevail, adding that for the first time in his life, he feels free from the pressure and anxiety he associates with his upbringing.
