Showboy Hospitalised After Arrest and Court Hearing

Ghanaian rapper Showboy, born Sam Safo, has reportedly been admitted to hospital just days after his arrest and subsequent court appearance, sparking widespread concern among fans and followers.

News first broke on February 3, 2026, that the musician had been apprehended again by the Ghana Police Service after allegedly evading an earlier arrest. Reports indicate that officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) stormed his residence on January 30, 2026, in an attempt to take him into custody.

The arrest is said to be linked to a blackmail complaint filed by music promoter David Mensah, popularly known as Davido GH. During the operation, video footage circulated online showing a tense exchange between the rapper and police officers, intensifying public attention surrounding the case.

Shortly after the arrest, social media platform Gossip24tv claimed that the rapper had escaped from police custody. In a Facebook post, the blog alleged that Showboy failed to arrive at the Police Headquarters with officers, raising further speculation about the circumstances of his detention.

However, the situation took a new turn on February 12, 2026, when Showboy appeared before the Adentan Circuit Court for his first hearing. According to court reports, he was remanded into custody at Nsawam Prison for two weeks after arriving late to proceedings. The presiding judge subsequently adjourned the case to March 4, 2026, to allow for further legal processes.

Fresh developments emerged on February 17, 2026, when reports suggested that the rapper had been transferred to an undisclosed medical facility. A Facebook update by Showbiz Blogger alleged that Showboy was experiencing breathing difficulties, reportedly linked to asthma and multiple allergies.

In viral videos now circulating on social media, the rapper is seen seated on a hospital bed with a bottle of water placed in front of him while receiving oxygen support. The footage has triggered widespread reactions online, with fans expressing concern about his health and questioning the circumstances surrounding his condition.

While official confirmation from authorities remains limited, the videos have intensified public scrutiny of the ongoing legal proceedings and his wellbeing. Supporters have taken to social media to send messages of encouragement, while others continue to debate the events leading up to his arrest and hospitalisation.

As the case remains before the court, attention is likely to stay fixed on both his legal situation and his reported health challenges. Further updates are expected as proceedings resume in early March.
