Manchester Ghana Independence Concert Postponed Over Flight Issues

The much-anticipated Ghana 69th Independence Concert scheduled to take place in Manchester has been officially postponed due to unexpected travel disruptions.

In a Facebook post sighted by OneKing Multimedia, the Chief Executive Officer of Sleeky Promotions, Saddick Assah, announced that the event had to be rescheduled following unforeseen flight cancellations and last-minute airspace blockages that affected key arrangements for the concert.

According to the statement released by Sleeky Promotions in collaboration with 1957 Empire, the travel challenges significantly disrupted artist departures, itineraries, performance scheduling and other logistical preparations for the show.

The organisers explained that the decision was made in the best interest of ensuring a smooth and memorable experience for all attendees.

“Due to unexpected flight cancellations and last-minute airspace blockages which have significantly affected travel arrangements, artiste departures, itineraries, performance arrangements, and overall event logistics, the Ghana 69th Independence Concert in Manchester has been postponed,” the statement indicated.

However, organisers have confirmed that the event will still take place in the same venue in Manchester, but on a new date. The concert has now been rescheduled for 14th March, maintaining the same venue and time as originally planned.

Sleeky Promotions expressed sincere apologies to all ticket holders and supporters who had made plans to attend the celebration. They emphasised that the decision was taken to guarantee a high-quality entertainment experience for patrons of the event.

“We would like to officially apologise to all our ticket purchasers for any inconvenience this may cause. Please be assured that this decision was made in the best interest of delivering a smooth, high-quality and memorable celebration,” the statement further noted.

Organisers also reassured patrons that all tickets purchased for the original date remain valid for the new schedule. In addition, tickets are still available for purchase through online ticket platforms including Eventbrite and Shoobs.

The Ghana Independence Concert in Manchester forms part of the celebrations marking Ghana’s independence anniversary and is expected to attract members of the Ghanaian diaspora and music lovers from across the United Kingdom.

The organisers also took the opportunity to express appreciation to their event sponsors and partners who continue to support the initiative despite the unforeseen postponement.

Sleeky Promotions extended special thanks to sponsor Ocean Bells GH for their continued backing of the event.

Fans and ticket holders seeking additional information or assistance regarding the event have been advised to contact the organisers through the provided phone numbers.

Despite the postponement, anticipation remains high for the concert as it promises to bring together Ghanaian culture, music and celebration in Manchester when it finally takes place on the new date.
