Dr. Louisa Satekla, wife of celebrated Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, has dismissed viral claims suggesting her husband picked up a $1 bill during Davido and Chioma’s wedding in Miami.
The false narrative emerged after a video from the August 10, 2025 ceremony at The Havana in Miami, Florida, showed Stonebwoy briefly pausing his performance to pick something from the floor.
While some online users alleged he picked up a $1 note that had been sprayed on the couple, Dr. Louisa clarified in a tweet on August 13 that he had retrieved his diamond bracelet, which had fallen from his wrist mid-performance.

“It’s so crazy how some people think. You can clearly see his diamond bracelet fall off and he bends to pick it up, but because of evil and mischief you choose to believe he picked $1??? Some people’s mindset really explains a lot about who they really are… smh,” she wrote.
Stonebwoy, known for hits like “Jejereje,” was among the high-profile performers invited to entertain guests at the wedding of Nigerian superstar Davido (David Adeleke) and his long-time partner Chioma Avril Rowland. The Miami white wedding followed their traditional ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria, in June 2024.
The lavish celebration reportedly cost $3.7 million, making it one of the most expensive celebrity weddings in Nigerian history. It was attended by an exclusive guest list of celebrities, business magnates, and political figures.
However, the event was not without its challenges. Visa complications prevented several key guests, including Chioma’s parents and close friend Cubana Chief Priest, from attending. Despite these setbacks, the wedding unfolded with opulence and grandeur, featuring top-tier entertainment, luxury décor, and a multi-course gourmet reception.
The viral moment involving Stonebwoy quickly became a trending topic on social media, with divided opinions among netizens. While some viewers immediately recognized that the object retrieved was a bracelet, others fuelled speculation with misleading captions and memes.
Dr. Louisa’s swift response aimed to set the record straight, stressing the importance of truth over sensationalism. Her remarks also highlighted a broader concern about how easily misinformation spreads online, often at the expense of public figures’ reputations.

Stonebwoy has yet to personally address the claims, but fans have rallied in his defence, sharing slowed-down clips of the performance to prove that the retrieved item was indeed his diamond bracelet.
The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges celebrities face in navigating public perception, especially in the era of viral content and instant social media commentary.
As Davido and Chioma’s wedding continues to make headlines for its glamour and star-studded guest list, the brief misunderstanding around Stonebwoy’s performance underscores the need for viewers to verify facts before drawing conclusions.
