The ongoing saga surrounding Nigerian superstar Davido and claims of an alleged daughter has taken a decisive turn after his father, Adedeji Adeleke, publicly addressed the matter in a televised interview.
Speaking on Arise TV on Wednesday, January 21, Mr Adeleke, who is the President of Adeleke University and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Holdings Limited, provided details of events following the emergence of the paternity allegations involving his son.

According to Mr Adeleke, he accompanied Davido to the hospital after the claims surfaced. He revealed that upon arrival, the award-winning singer immediately denied ever having met the woman who alleged that he was the father of her child.
“When we arrived at the hospital with David, he immediately told me he had never seen the girl before,” Adeleke said during the interview. “However, I insisted on the DNA test, and I promised that if the test was positive, I would take responsibility for the child.”
The elder Adeleke explained that his insistence on a DNA test was driven by a desire for clarity and accountability, particularly given the intense public scrutiny surrounding his son and the potential impact of such allegations on Davido’s personal life and career.
He further disclosed that the results of the DNA test reportedly showed a 0.00% probability of paternity, effectively ruling out Davido as the biological father of the child in question. In an effort to remove any lingering doubt, Mr Adeleke said he requested two additional DNA tests to reconfirm the findings.
However, he claimed that the hospital allegedly declined to conduct further tests, despite his request. This, he suggested, limited the family’s ability to pursue multiple independent confirmations, although he maintained confidence in the original result.
By speaking publicly, Mr Adeleke said his intention was to clear his son’s name and put an end to what he described as widespread speculation and misinformation. He stressed the importance of relying on verified medical evidence rather than rumours, especially in high-profile cases involving public figures.
His comments have been widely interpreted as a firm defence of Davido, reinforcing the family’s position that the singer is not the biological father of the child. The public intervention by Davido’s father also underscores the role of DNA testing as a critical tool in resolving paternity disputes, particularly in the entertainment industry where such claims can quickly escalate in the court of public opinion.

The controversy has generated significant attention across social media and entertainment platforms, with fans and commentators closely following developments. For many observers, Mr Adeleke’s statement represents the most authoritative clarification on the issue to date.
This latest development is expected to reduce speculation and shift the narrative surrounding the alleged paternity claim. While the matter may continue to attract discussion online, the DNA test results, as presented by Mr Adeleke, are likely to be viewed as a key piece of evidence in bringing closure to the situation.
For Davido, one of Africa’s most prominent music exports, the public backing from his father may help stabilise his public image amid the ongoing scrutiny that often accompanies global stardom.
