Black Sherif Says He Deserves Any Win at 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards

Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has expressed confidence ahead of the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), saying he believes he deserves any win that may come his way.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on Monday, November 10, the award-winning artiste reacted to growing predictions that he could sweep major categories including Artiste of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Album of the Year.

According to Black Sherif, such predictions are not far-fetched, as they reflect the hard work he and his team have put into their craft over the past year.

“We deserve it, don’t you think so?” he responded when asked about being tipped for top TGMA honours.

The “Second Sermon” hitmaker emphasized that while any recognition at the TGMA would be a proud moment, the real victory would be for his fans who have supported him consistently throughout his musical journey.

“If I win, I want it for the fans. It’s a validation for them,” he stated. “My validation is in the music.”

Black Sherif explained that, to him, awards serve as an acknowledgment of the connection he shares with his audience rather than personal validation. His true fulfillment, he said, comes from creating music that resonates deeply with listeners and reflects authentic experiences.

“Awards are beautiful, but the real validation comes from the music — from how it touches people and how they relate to it,” he added.

The 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Ghana’s premier music recognition event, is expected to attract the biggest names in the industry. Black Sherif’s recent projects have positioned him as one of the most prominent figures in Ghanaian music, earning both local and international acclaim.

As anticipation builds toward the ceremony, fans and industry observers are watching closely to see if the young star will once again dominate the stage and add another milestone to his growing list of achievements.
