Afia Schwarzenegger Refutes Drug Allegations Against Kofi Mole, Claims He’s Struggling Financially

Controversial Ghanaian media personality Afia Schwarzenegger has waded into the ongoing speculation surrounding rapper Kofi Mole, following public concern over his frail appearance during a recent interview.

In a self-recorded video that has since gone viral, Afia Schwar vehemently dismissed claims circulating on social media suggesting that Kofi Mole may be battling drug addiction. According to her, the rapper’s emaciated look is not a result of substance abuse but rather a reflection of his current financial struggles.

“Ghanaians are always quick to judge. Kofi Mole is not on drugs—he is simply hungry,” she said. “When was the last time you saw Kofi Mole headline or perform at a major show? The young man is broke. Let’s be honest.”

Afia Schwarzenegger’s comments come amid widespread speculation, with many netizens suggesting that Kofi Mole’s appearance pointed to something more troubling. However, Afia insists that the root of the issue is economic, not narcotic.

She took the opportunity to broaden the conversation, asserting that many male celebrities in Ghana are silently enduring severe financial hardships. According to her, the lack of consistent performance opportunities and the competitive nature of the entertainment industry have left many artists struggling to survive.

“People don’t know what these guys are going through. Some of them can’t even afford a decent meal,” she claimed.

Afia went further to make a controversial comparison between male and female celebrities, arguing that female entertainers have more avenues to sustain their lifestyle, including transactional relationships, which she bluntly referenced as “s3x for money.”

“Sarkodie, among other top male musicians, are broke. They’re not women who can just sleep with someone for money. It’s tough for them,” she stated.

Her remarks have sparked both support and backlash online. While some sympathize with her perspective on the industry’s pressures, others criticized her for making unsubstantiated claims about specific artists like Sarkodie, who has maintained a public image of success and consistency over the years.

Despite the heated reactions, Afia Schwarzenegger’s commentary has shed light on a broader issue within Ghana’s entertainment landscape—the lack of financial security and support systems for artists, particularly men, once they are no longer trending.

As the conversation continues to unfold, Kofi Mole has yet to respond publicly to the allegations or Afia’s defense. Meanwhile, fans and industry stakeholders are calling for more structural support to ensure the well-being and sustainability of entertainers, beyond their prime moments of fame.

The video of Afia Schwar’s statement is still trending on social platforms, reigniting conversations around the pressure and reality of fame in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.
