TGMA Opens Nominations for 27th Edition, Invites Industry Submissions

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) has officially opened nominations for its 27th edition, inviting Ghanaian artistes, producers, and record labels to submit their works for consideration in one of the country’s most prestigious music award schemes.

Organisers of the awards announced that only works released between January 1 and December 31, 2025, are eligible for nomination. This eligibility period applies across all award categories, ensuring that the honours reflect the creative output and impact of the Ghanaian music industry within the year under review.

Stakeholders across the music value chain, including artistes, songwriters, producers, managers, and record labels, have been encouraged to take full advantage of the nomination window to showcase their projects. From chart-topping hits and breakthrough releases to critically acclaimed albums and impactful collaborations, the TGMA provides a national platform for recognising excellence, consistency, and innovation in Ghanaian music.

Submissions are to be made exclusively through the official awards portal at www.entry.ghanamusicawards.com, where applicants are required to complete the nomination process before the stated deadline. Organisers have urged entrants to carefully review the submission guidelines and category requirements to avoid disqualification.

Over the years, the Telecel Ghana Music Awards has played a pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s music industry, celebrating outstanding achievements while also spotlighting emerging talent. The awards have become a benchmark for artistic excellence, industry professionalism, and cultural impact, both locally and internationally.

Beyond recognising artistes, the TGMA also acknowledges the contributions of producers, sound engineers, music video directors, and other behind-the-scenes professionals whose work drives the success of the industry. As such, the nomination process is seen as an important opportunity for the entire ecosystem to gain visibility and validation.

Industry observers note that the 27th edition is expected to be highly competitive, given the volume of music released in 2025 and the increasing influence of digital platforms in amplifying Ghanaian sounds globally. Genres such as Afrobeats, Highlife, Hiplife, Gospel, Reggae/Dancehall, and emerging alternative styles are all expected to feature prominently.

Organisers have reiterated their commitment to transparency and credibility, assuring stakeholders that the awards process will continue to reflect fairness, industry standards, and audience engagement. This commitment, they say, is key to maintaining the TGMA’s reputation as Ghana’s leading music awards scheme.

As the awards season officially begins, artistes and industry players are being urged not to delay their submissions. With nominations now open, the countdown has begun toward another celebration of Ghana’s vibrant music culture and the creative talents driving it forward.
