Piesie Esther Says Songwriting Comes Naturally Through Divine Inspiration

Celebrated Ghanaian gospel musician Piesie Esther has opened up about her creative process, revealing that songwriting comes naturally and effortlessly to her. According to her, her ability to craft spiritually uplifting songs is a gift she credits entirely to God.

Speaking in an interview on The Chat on Channel One TV on Saturday, November 15, Piesie Esther said she is grateful for how smoothly the songwriting process flows for her.
“I always give thanks to God for that because I am someone who does not struggle when it comes to writing my songs,” she emphasised.

The award-winning singer explained that many of her songs emerge from deep moments of reflection on God’s goodness in her life. She shared the remarkable story behind her hit song ‘Nyame Ye’, describing how it was born out of a sleepless night filled with gratitude and biblical meditation.

According to Piesie Esther, during that night she found herself thinking about everything God had done for her—how far she had come and the many challenges she had overcome through faith. Feeling spiritually stirred, she reached for her Bible for guidance and inspiration.

Her reading led her to 1 Samuel 12, a chapter that recounts the Israelites’ disobedience against God and the prophet Samuel’s intercession on their behalf. Although she could not remember the exact verse, she vividly recalled the narrative of the Israelites preparing for battle against the Philistines and Samuel standing in the gap for them. Despite their shortcomings, God granted them victory.

She also mentioned the reference to Mizpah, where Samuel placed a stone to serve as a memorial of God’s faithfulness—a powerful symbol that resonated with her own life story.
“That is where I got the inspiration from because I remember where I was some years ago and what I have been through. God has been good,” she said.

Piesie Esther noted that the themes of gratitude, divine favour, and spiritual reflection remain central to her creative process. She sees her music not only as a personal expression of faith but also as a ministry aimed at strengthening and comforting listeners.

She added that every song she writes is inspired by moments when she pauses to acknowledge God’s unwavering love and guidance. These reflections, she said, allow her to produce music that touches hearts and encourages believers to trust God through all seasons.

The gospel star’s testimony further highlights the deep spiritual foundation behind her musical success. Over the years, Piesie Esther has become known for songs that resonate with people seeking hope, encouragement, and a reminder of God’s abiding presence.

Her ability to merge scripture, personal experience, and melody has set her apart as one of Ghana’s most respected gospel voices. Many of her fans relate strongly to her songs because they spring from real encounters with God and moments of emotional vulnerability.

As she continues to make her mark on the gospel music scene, Piesie Esther says she remains committed to creating songs that uplift, inspire, and draw listeners closer to God. Her story behind ‘Nyame Ye’ once again reflects the authenticity and spiritual depth that have defined her journey.

According to her, as long as she stays grounded in prayer, scripture, and gratitude, the music will continue to flow naturally.
She concluded that every new song is another reminder of God’s goodness—and she hopes her listeners feel the same sense of divine connection when they hear them.
