Ghanaian Players Shine Abroad with Goals, Assists and Big Debuts

Ghanaian footballers abroad had a thrilling start to the 2025/26 season, with many finding the net, providing assists, and delivering standout performances for their clubs across Europe and beyond. Here’s a wrap-up of the weekend’s action.

England

At Anfield, Antoine Semenyo lit up the Premier League opener with a brace for Bournemouth against defending champions Liverpool. The Ghana forward, however, was briefly at the center of controversy after reporting racial abuse, forcing a stoppage in play. Despite his two goals, Bournemouth fell 4-2 after late strikes from Chiesa and Salah.

Mohammed Kudus announced himself in style on his Premier League debut for Tottenham, providing two assists in a 3-0 win over Burnley. Both were converted by Richarlison, including an acrobatic overhead kick.

Belgium
